Cannot load my Links 2001 game

I have links 2001. when I load it, it goes through just
fine but afer I put in the 3rd disk it doesn't ask for
the first disk for verification. It just ask to play
golf. I tried to play golf but it say's cannot verify
your #1 disk

before you start links2001, insert the disk1 back into your drive as it
checks for disk1 to make sure you have bought it and not copied it from
somewhere.

If you start links2001 with disk3 still in the drive you will get the
'cannot verify your disk#1' error.

Another good way to stop the verification of disk1 is to go to
www.gamecopyworld.com and get the nocd patch there. when you have installed
the nocd patch correctly you wont need to insert disk1 all the time.

Nope that is wrong.

I have both links2001 and links2003 and I had to insert disk1 every time I
started them not just the first time. It became such a pain that I looked
around and found the gamecopyworld and got nocd patches for both of them.

If you got links running without putting the disk in after the 1st time you
are lucky.

I haven't put the first Links 2001 CD in since I first installed it over a
year and a half ago, and I don't have the patch. I'm not sure I could find
the CD if asked to, and I play the game 3-4 times a week.... so I guess I'm
not totally wrong. I don't have Links 2003 (heard too much negative crap
about it), so I can't speak to that issue.
